Be Better at Being an Online Business and Never Pay a 20% Referral Again!

The biggest rort in the real estate industry, in my opinion, are companies like LocalAgentFinder and WhicRealEstateAgent. They have convinced the public that they are doing a service by helping them but really, they are taking food off the plate of hard-working agents. Sadly, it’s our own fault as we as an industry left the door wide open for them to come in and take what is ours.

How did these companies end up in a position where they just stroll in and slip a little 20% invoice onto a commission that was earned by you? Simple: they were just better at digital marketing and SEO. They wrote the content that answered the questions that consumers ask on a daily basis. Then they slipped a product underneath that content which looks free to the consumer. Very clever, actually.

How can you as a business owner eradicate that invoice? How can you attract more leads directly to your business that are currently coming through LocalAgentFinder?

You must be better controlling your online marketing.

The days relying on referrals is over. I want every smart real estate business owner to thrive, and that’s why I’m telling you that you need to take a long term approach.

Here is what you must do. You need to outrank LocalAgentFinder. Yep. You CAN beat them. It just takes hard work, smart work, and time

Here at ShoreAgents, our major keyword is “Real Estate Virtual Assistant”. Guess what? We outrank Upwork.com for that keyword. Upwork turns over 1 billion USD per year! We did it with a solid content strategy and a bit of patience.

The first thing to do is search in Google for the following keywords:

Real Estate (Your Service Area) – e.g. real estate brisbane

Real Estate Agent (Your Service Area)

Property Management (Your Service Area)

For Sale (Your Service Area)

For Rent (Your Service Area)

If you do not rank on the first page, then you have got to write some content. For each of these topics, you need a separate page on your website, and each of those pages needs 1800 words about the topic. Once you have these key pages in place, they will start to move up the Google ranks organically. If you want them to move faster, you will need to get a few backlinks from other websites.

For more ways that smart content and SEO can improve your rankings, check out this article about how you can create separate suburb pages to increase your SEO rankings.

The other way to do this is really to just be top of mind. The cost per click for Google Display ads is so cheap that you can literally ingrain your brand in the consumer’s brain. It is really not difficult.

Lots of people ask me questions about real estate SEO and I haven’t yet taken the time out to create training materials. I have now decided that I will, so soon you’ll have more info than you can handle about leveraging SEO for your real estate business.

In the meantime, if you want to know more about offshore staff or anything to do with the real estate biz, just add me on LinkedIn and send a message.
